Moving Day

It happened, we moved!  Not into our house of course, but close to our house so we can start renovation.  For the foreseeable future we will be calling our rental home ‘home’ so that we can have the time and ability to demo and reno our new home.  To say it was easy to pack and leave our home in Olathe Ks would be a total lie.  Tears were shed, pictures were taken(see below), memories were reminisced, and our stress level was on the upper part of the charts.  It’s a unique scenario with our moving situation because we are keeping our home in Olathe for now.  Which means we had to pack to move to Lincoln, but we didn’t have to pack everything.  I can honestly say that packing to move, but not really move, is super hard!

We are having a difficult time selling or renting our Olathe home because it holds so many special memories for us.  It is our first home together.  Eddie got down on one knee and asked me to marry him in the living room, we celebrated his graduation from nursing school in the backyard, we brought all three of our newborn children home to that house, and so many other special memories. Those of you that have ever moved from a home like that know what we are talking about, it is so hard to let go of something so magical and special!  However, we are ecstatic about the memories and future we will be making in our new home, so that makes moving much more exciting.

With all that being said, we are officially Lincoln Ks residence and SO proud of it!!  We thrive off of the challenges and adversities of life, what doesn’t kill you truly makes you stronger.  We will be starting demo and cleaning out of the house sometime this week.  We pray for sanity, no snakes, lots of cold bottled water and for our babysitter(Grandma) to survive 3 kids 3 and under for a whole day, or 5! 😆

  1. I understand your sentiments.
The house at 324 East Lincoln there in Lincoln is where Nick, Katie and Libby were raised. Each of their rooms have their imprint in the closets in the form of a height chart.
It was hard for me to leave.

I am beyond happy for your adventure and look forward to follow-up all the progress.
